About City of Pets

A Safe Haven for the Voiceless

City of Pets is more than just a shelter — it’s a sanctuary where animals find refuge, healing, and unconditional love. From emergency rescues to long-term care, our sanctuary provides a second chance for those who’ve suffered neglect, abuse, or abandonment.

Every space at City of Pets is designed with compassion — from recovery areas for injured animals to enrichment zones that support socialization and comfort. Here, they don’t just survive — they begin again.

Life-Saving Rescue

We respond to urgent calls for help, rescuing animals from abuse, abandonment, and natural disasters with speed and compassion.

Compassionate Sanctuary

City of Pets offers lifelong refuge to animals who cannot be adopted — ensuring they receive love, comfort, and care every day.

Community Powered

From volunteers to donors, every person involved with City of Pets helps create a kinder world for animals.

We Believe Every Animal Deserves a Future

Our mission is rooted in compassion and action. City of Pets exists to rescue, protect, and provide for animals who have nowhere else to go. But we don’t stop there — we educate the community, empower responsible pet ownership, and inspire kindness through action.

Through your support, we are building a movement — one that prioritizes life over convenience, healing over profit, and love over neglect. Together, we’re rewriting what’s possible for animals in need.

City of Pets

Overview of the Concept

City of Pets is the first-of-its-kind sanctuary city — a permanent, purpose-built community where animals and people live, work, and heal together. Located on a 16-acre property in Campo, California,

City of Pets will house over 1,000 dogs and 1,000 cats in its first phase, with expansion plans to include farm animals, small mammals, and wildlife. Unlike traditional shelters, Rescue Ridge is designed as a lifelong refuge, prioritizing rehabilitation, enrichment, and dignity over temporary holding or rushed adoptions.

Donate to Lilica

Lilica is a 3-year-old husky mix rescued from a high-volume shelter in central California. She’s smart, talkative, and loves sunrise walks. Lilica is heartworm negative, spayed, and thriving in our enrichment program. She’s looking for a sponsor to help fund her training and care.

Donate to Charlie

Charlie is a curious tabby kitten found in a sealed box behind a grocery store. Despite a rough start, she’s playful, confident, and thriving. Sponsorship helps cover vaccinations, spay surgery, and early socialization support.

Donate Lucky

Lucky was found abandoned on a rural road with a broken leg. After surgery and months of recovery, this gentle Labrador mix now greets every visitor with a tail wag. Sponsorship will cover his ongoing physical therapy and specialty food needs.

Donate Madalene

Madalene is a 12-year-old Persian surrendered after her guardian passed away. She prefers sunbeams, solitude, and softly spoken words. Sponsor Madalene to ensure her golden years are filled with comfort, stability, and daily brushing rituals.

Adopt Joanne

Joanne is a goofy 1-year-old pit bull who was surrendered due to breed restrictions. He’s a staff favorite for his clownish personality and cuddle addiction. Your sponsorship ensures Joanne gets daily socialization, training, and lifelong care at City of Pets.

Adopt Cutesy

Cutesy is a senior Chihuahua who spent 10 years in a backyard breeding operation. Despite her past, she’s sweet, quiet, and happiest wrapped in a soft blanket. Sponsor Cutesy to help us provide her with the love, warmth, and dignity she deserves.
